ok i just got 6 baby fish i will doscribe to you the fetures when thay get bigger so yous might be able to tell me what breed i got them from my nabore who was breeding them than the mom and dad died anayway i was wondering how oftin i needed to cleen the tank it has no pump or filter so its just them in ther i usto cleen it every other day but i feel that was stressing them out bad

i dont know maby a gallon and i dont know about the babies ther small but grow every day i was thinking of just clening it when the watter got yellow or green is that to late?? i have to cleen it tomorrow if thats the case

use a sponge. DONT change all the water, change about half of it. Because it can cause a humugous ph or other chemical change and kill the fry's so just change about half the tank every... 2 or 3 days until they are big enuff to go in the big tank

u need to get a larger tank, baby livebearers can grow fast if u give them room, the problem is the waste. without a filter and room to grow, your fish will probably die.

a ten gallon should only run about 9 usd, and a sponge filter with an airpump should only be about 14 usd(most from the airpump)

you will still need to change water. i found that a turkey baster is best for taking out dirt when dealing with small fish.

Changing all the water will do nothing to the ph if the water is from the same source, If you cant get anyhting bigger than that tank, then change out all the water every other day, or every 3 days, and spot clean with airline tubing or a turkey baster

wats a ph or usd????????? and as i sead before changing the watter every other day stresses them i can tell becouse of ther behaveur when thay go in the holding tank whill i change the tank thay huddle together by 1 side and when thay git in the big tank after its cleen thay do laps as fast as thay can around it like im free!!!! im free!!!! yyyyaaaaahhhooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i dont want them to die when do you think thay need a bigger tank??? i have a 5 gal tank but i need that fore a fue critters fore a cupple of weeks than i will moov my new crittrs to a bigger and better habbatat i will cleen it out relly good after i moov them to ther new home and i will put the fosh in ther and i will look fore a filter and 1 of those masheens that make the bubbles i have no clue what its calledbut i will

thanks birdluver and sorry. i askedmy gandma becouse at 1 time che had allot of tropical fish (puffers zebras and allot of others i dont rember) but she didnt give me an ancer that i rembre i told her that i think i will just cleen it when it gits dirtey i dont know what she sead after that if she sead yea ok ir we are going to git them a bigger tank....what does the taink have to do with how oftin i need to cleen this one sometimes i dont understand her

I'm a little confused, but say yuo have a 75 gallon tank with one guppy in it, you wont ever have to clean it, but have one guppy in a 5 gallon, and weekly waterchanges are a must..

its not so much the size, but how you stock it that matters with the waterchanges, i always recomend people under stock their tanks, because say you miss a WC well it wont be as bad as if you overstocked it and missed a WC...

were you tlking to me birdluver? i never sead i have a 55 gal taink or a guppy. i got them a new 10 gal taink how oftin o i have to cleen that it has a filter and i am gitting it an air pump it has plastick plants its relly cool it came with gravle but i would like to know why i need to use gravle it macks the taink lok allot better and that but is it fore the fiches health or cosmeticks?

no, i was using that as an example, because guppies even for theri size produce a good ammount of waste..........

The ammount of water and how often you change that ammount all depends on your stocking.
