Tidbit LOVES to sit on my shoulder. Sometimes she sits there for hours. Rats are very loveable pets. Personally I think they're better than dogs because, well, has a dog ever sat on YOUR shoulder? Plus, they are small and don't require much room. Tidbit is less than a year old so she is only six inches long. When she is full grown she'll be almost a foot. Rats won't bite unless you really hurt them (or unless they're greedy and want food before their friend and you stick your finger in the cage. That happens with Tidbit but it doesn't hurt me too bad lol!)

Rats are probably the best pets you can have other than birds, because they are easy to take care of and love attention! My rat only poops and pees in her cage or a box we made for her to hide in when shes out with us. She doesn't bite and she loves to play. Easy to maintain (sp?) rats are the best!

I must have misread or skimmed over something, and I'm entirely too lazy to hit the back button. We're not talking about a 55 gallon water bottle are we? Or perhaps a 55 gallon..um...keg of bean dip. No, that'd be weighed by the pound. Hm....55 gallon of sea weed.

Anyway, 55 gallon of what? If thats what your rats drink out of you must have those giant New York City gutter things that are genetically mutated in size and strength that you see in the movies....your rats rock.

yup, thats what I used to kkep them in, now they are in a rabbit cage temporaraly, but they will be getting a HUGE cage I made to hold a squirrel *think of the activity of a red squirrel and amagine the size of the cage* I can fit in it comforably lol but before i bring it inside, I have to make a pan for it, its on a 5ft stand, but i'm gunna cut the leggs off some, because it might JUST fit in the house lol...and with me getting another 55 gallon, and a 75 gallon, I will then have to find room for it LOL its a darn good htig I have the largest room in the house:eek:

ha..thats sweet. I have a 3 story cage for Scurvy and Salmonella (Sally). Somehow it's almost prompting murder or at least brutal play between the two. Sally will climb up to the top, tresspassing behind enemy lines, and Scurvy will slap her left and right until she's knocked off. Amusing to watch....can't really tell if they hate each other or not. Doesn't seem like it, considering how Scurvy could massacre Sally in one hit, and she has yet to do so.

yea, rats are VERy smart, they acan watch you and learn how to open the cage, or find some weak bars and squeeze out, oh, good news, my girls are soon to be living in a 3'9'' Long, 2'8'' Wide, 2'8'' Tall I just have to fix it up some, cut some of the 5ft tall leggs off lol and spray it with somehting to make sure no buggies get in *its been outside for a bit on its side, i'm sure there is somehting living in it lol..and i have to fix the door...souldent be too hard :P

I now have a padlock on their cage. Scurvy learned she wasnt strong enough to push up on the lever, so she climbed up the side, slid down backwards, and hung from her toes and pulled it...and out she went. So..I bought a padlock today..lol...Im tired of waking up for school and grabbing my bag and two large rodents are nested in eat that have literally eaten most my work.

What would your teacher say when your excuse was "my rat ate my homework" (or "my cat ate it")?

S.U.A.C.
08-29-2006, 08:57 PM
well, either way she wouldn't believe me. In all irony, or perhaps by fate, she later got her own rat. Some time later that year, it had eaten her gradebook and we all gave her a hard time over it "Now Miss, you know thats a load of bull. You were just lazy and irresponsibile and didn't want to keep up with your work so you use some trivial, unoriginal excuse like 'my rat demolished it' to remove your own fault" sweet revenge.

They're marauding little menaces that I'v realized can learn and infiltrate almost anything by mimicking....except my padlock on their cage. Good luck with that.
