this doesnt cound like your fish is preggo, it sounds like droopsy, is your fish pine coning? *the scales sticking up* it sounds swimbladder related, but, i'm not sure how to treat for swimbladder, chris will have to help you with that, but droopsy can be treated with meds..if its a salt tolerent fish, try adding a little aquarium salt, it can help too.

a pregant fish should not be swimming on its side, so it sounds like an illness.

swimbladder might be it, really the only thing to do is let itself ride it out. the only thing that can be done should only be done by pros. They basically stick a needle in the swimbladder of the fish so it POPS and than the fish should sink.

Drospys is uncureable. 98% death rate. Basically it is organ failure and fuilds build up causing the scales to stick out like a pinecone. The only way to cure is to find a way somehow to restart the organ. Again almost impossible to cure. But lets get this straight, drospy is a symptom, not a disease, so it can't be pasted on from fish to fish. And drospy is caused by poor water quality.

um, chris, I have has droopsy occure in 3 fish of mine so far *over my years* and so far only lost one..I think..but the most recent i cured in, probly 12 hours, it depends on how soon you catch it, and if you have strong enough meds..
