Help with water filter

I have a cascade 1500 water filter for my 95gallon fish tank. When I bought it it worked great. It cleaned the entire fish tank with no problem. The suction was perfect but after the second cleaning the suction decreased dramatically. Its not even half the power that it was when I bought it. Can anyone give me some ideas. Thanks.

when u cleaned the tank, did u clean the filter, in take tube, impellor, and filter media.

I cleaned everything but i dont know what them empellor is. I changed the filter media and the tubes that go in the tank but nothing

the intake tube should be removeable simply by pulling it. the impeller should be attached to it by a magnet. If you have any stringy plants in the tank, they often get stuck in there and cause filter power to decrease.
