My bird is shy and it is bitting. It only bites a little but it is very shy. If I put my finger in the cage she will put One foot one my finger and the other one the cage. How do I get her to lighten up?

You just to work calmly with your bird. Continue to speak quietly to her and when she does step up praise her a lot. If she comes out of cage to you try taking her to another spot in the house away from her house. You will be the only thing familiar to her so she will start to bond more with you. What type of bird do you have BTW?

I think she wants a bath. My bird does that also. I would give her a dish of water to bathe in. If she won't go in splash the water with your fingers a little and praise her. I bet she will love it:) Lots of keets love to get in and splash around.

I recently got another parakeet (an angry little guy) from a friend of mine. PATIENCE IS KEY, PATIENCE. I agree birdy birdy, give it some time, it will work out.
