How do I work with a car sick puppy?,half golden ret. half hasky.
Her sister is fine in the car but Jordan can't make it down the road. I need to start taking them more places but Jordan can't handle it.

Hi doglover and welcome :)
The only thing I can think of is take Jordan more often on short rides, get her used to it slowly, I think she'll be fine after awhile. They sound adorable with that mix... would love to see pics ;). Good luck.

Our golden got carsick when we first got her, we took her for short rides and gave her a treat to chew on. It seemed when she was distracted and not looking out the window, motion sickness stopped.
At 5 years old now, she's a ride freak!

The two previous posts gave good advice and I hope that is all that it takes. Sometimes, unfortunately, the dogs never truly get over the motion sickness. For these "sensitive" dogs I recommend administering Benadryl at a dose of 12.5 mg for every 25 pounds of body weight, one hour before travel. Benadryl is quite safe for use in dogs when used at the recommended dose. It works by causing mild sedation and reducing stress (take the edge off so to speak), but also by reducing nausea by reducing stomach acidity. Sometimes one or two uses is all that is necessary to aclimate the dog to travel. However, in some very sensitive dogs it is required for travel at all times. Best of luck to you!
