HELP what kind is it?

hello
i found this turtle on the highway and picked it up. what kind is it? i believe it's a Terrapene carolina carolina, a eastern boxturtle but i'm not sure. she seems to be ok.
shouls i keep her or set her free again - and where?

You should set her free. Wild animals are not pets. I would take her as close to the location that you found her. Preferably in the direction she was going to begin with. If thats not possible take her to a wooded area.

if i put her where i found her she's dead within the hour - in the middle of a highway. doesn't she need a creek or something nearby?

I didn't mean in the middle of the road,lol. Just close to where she was from.
