We lost our adopted cat Bogart after only having him for two and a half years. He suffered from liver failure and pancreatitis commonly referred to as Feline fatty liver. However, at the end they were more convinced it was fatal cancer. He was our pride and joy and will be missed dearly. I had to make the decision to put him to sleep as he was suffering too much and all we were doing was prolonging his death. I will never ever forget standing there helpless as my baby went to sleep. They told me it takes two shots and that he would just go to sleep. But as he laid there he began gasping and I thought my heart was going to break in half as there was nothing I could do. Everyone at the vet was crying and his doctor couldn't even come back in the room. It was so heartbreaking to see this young 5 year old who we saved leave like this.
However, I hang on to the thought that we gave him two of the best years of his life and I am confident he knew that. He loved us as much as we loved him and was Jim's (my disabled hubby) lap buddy. We will see him again someday and that keeps us going.
RIP Bogart Buda Belly...we'll be back to get you soon,
Mommy and Daddy
