This is Simba, my new Citron Cockatoo. He is 7 years old. He came to me on Monday from Jason (Gems). Jason bought him from someone that had one day to move out and couldn't take him. Jason took him, I think out of fear of what would happen to him. His plans were to get Simba used to people and birds again, and find him a home. He said he may have kept him himself, but Simba got really possessive of his female Citron. I can see why he would want to keep him though.
In the car, on the way home from the airport, he acted like he wanted to kill me in his crate. When I got him home, my mom talked to him and he bobbed his head and whistled. My mom was really cynical about me buying an adult bird. I think she changed her mind after how quick he took to her. He's scared of my dad for some reason though. He's been my little sweetheart since I let him out of the crate. This bird is hilarious. I love how he bobs his head to the beat of music. The next morning after I got him home, I walked into the room and he reached his foot out. I gave him my hand and he stepped up, walked up my arm, put his beak on my lips, made kissing sounds and then went back to his cage. It was the cutest thing. I love this bird. I always wanted a Citron, but when I lived with my parents, my dad said no way could we have a cockatoo in that house. It was meant to be.
