Hi,
I'm new here, and have had my TAG (or he's had me!), Otis, for two weeks now. I got him from a bird store. I know - bad, bad. I shouldn't even have gone in. But I did, and I fell in love with him. Anyway, the owner said he was 'about' 4 months old when I brought him home. I noticed last week that his eyes are starting to lighten in color. Does this seem consistent with that age? I've tried looking on line, and haven't been able to find out at what age this happens. He is still taking two feedings of formula a day, anywhere from 1 to 4 syringes (10 ml) at each feeding. He was banded, but all it had was FL 06, and some other numbers that the vet said would only have meaning to the breeder, and we don't know who that is. So I don't know the hatch date.
Thanks for any information you can give me - I'd really like to know if this age 'guess' is close.
Sarah

Hi Sarah. Welcome to Petlovers! Can't help you with your question on the age of your grey as I have never had a grey. There are others here that have greys, but due to it being a holiday it may take a day or two to get more replies. So hang in there and keep checking back. OK?

Gee whiz.... When I got my Grey he was already 9 years old so I am not sure of this either. I will try to look in one of my books and get back to you! And welcome to Petlovers!

I stumbled upon your answer (sort of) today while searching PetFinder.

Apparently CAG's start out with grey eyes that gradually change. So I'm going to assume that TAG's are the same or close to the same.

Here's where I found the info: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=6305894
