Picking at stiches...

I aquired a Nanday Conour ,that we believe to be wild,that was apparently hit by a car.The outcome was a wing amputation.The procedure was preformed Wednesday and not until now has he started picking at his stiches.Im scared to leave for work in the morning because I wont be here to make him stop.Is there anything I can apply to the area to deture him from this??

You can get a collar from the vets so that he won't be able to pick at it.

I think that is probably your only option as Rachelynn suggested. Outside of maybe wrapping it somehow....ooooh goodness this is a toughie!
