This is my virtual foster Dane Stumpy. Since I can't literally foster right now, virtual fostering ias a great alternative. Besides, I am a failure at fostering. I know I would adopt every dog I bring home. I love the virtual fostering idea. Most rescues have the plans. Stumpy is with the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue. What a beautiful Dane! Her head is just lovely!
Part of what the rescue posted about Stumpy: Stumpy is a 2-3 year old black female with cropped and standing ears. Someone abandoned her on the side of a busy road, dumping her there like trash. The poor girl patiently sat on that roadside for several days, waiting for her owners to come back and get her. Luckily, a good samaritan finally picked her up. She's spayed and the leg amputation site is clean and well-healed. She moves well on three legs, so has obviously had time to adapt to the lack of a leg. Stumpy is actually quite a handsome girl, with upstanding ears and a very distinguished face. This noble girl waited and waitied, day and night, for owners who never came back for her on that lonely roadside. It's heartbreaking that she had to go through that. Stumpy is obviously a very special dog, who has bravely surmounted some terrible challenges, and has come through with her bright spirit intact and shining.
