I know rats are very clean rodents if kept in clean environment. but exacly how clean are they iknow they aren't dirty or anything like that

Depending on how many rats you have, how often you clean the cage, what bedding you use, etc. Rats are pretty clean, especially females. males tend to pee on people, and out of their cage marking their territory. They can be litter trained, and that helps ALOT with how clean their cage stays.
