Royal Canin Maxi Puppy


I have two large breed dogs that I am starting to switch them over to Royal Canin Maxi puppy I was wondering if anyone heard of Royal C and if it is too rich for them or what large breed dog food is good for a 4 month chocolate lab and a 7 month white german shepherd.

What food did you feed your lab when he was a puppy.

I fed my MinPin Royal Canin the first few weeks she was home but found it was too rich for her. She constantly had diarrhea and she got so bloated from it (she looked pregnant). I switched her to Nutro and she's fine with that food.

Since your dogs are bigger than my MinPin they may be fine with Royal C. I suggest that you keep them on that food unless you notice diarrhea or bloating. Good luck and let me know if Royal Canin agrees with both your dogs as I'm curious to know. Most people I talked to said that it was also too rich for their dogs (but most people I know have tiny dogs like me). So, I'm wondering if it's the size of the puppies.
