Inside Edition just showed a piece on puppies - small breeds!
Their focus was on small breeds being smuggled from Mexico.
"Stop buying these puppies!" is the message.

I saw that on Anderson Cooper 360 I think last week. They are smuggling in puppies in trunks of cars, etc.... sick puppies from horrible backyard breeders.... and the people here in the states buy them because they are cheaper.

As long as it is about that damn almighty dollar then this stuff will never stop.

People buy them because they're ignorant, too. People pay $1,000 for some of them. They don't care where they come from if they're cute, and don't complain unless the puppy dies or gets really sick. How could anyone smuggle puppies in a gas tank? The puppies were too young, had no shots, no dewormings, often its what you can't see that kills them.
Its good they run these shows more than once. People need to hear about this.

We have had a few back yard breeders here and one notorius puppy mill that was run by a vet.Yes,a vet.It was eventually shut down and the remaining sick puppies and mothers were happily rehomed. But this was an ongoing battle that took years battling, legally as well as emotionally. It is a sad state but until people stop buying, the problem will be ongoing.Education has to be part of it. Sometimes, you can't stop all of them, but each dog/animal saved is a victory.
