My hamster just died

get another hammy to put in his cage or another hammy nearby in another cage, I had several hamsters but they have past away through-out the time I have one left at the time

it seems like getting a new friend for you lonely baby would be a good idea, but it's not. male hamsters do not, as a rule, get along. I successfully kept 2 brothers together as a child, but would never put two males together under other circumstances. especially since your little boy is well established. make sure to handle him often, at leas every day, and he'll have all the stimulation he needs (provided his cage is suitable, which i'm sure it is)... if you really feel the need to get a companion for him, you can, but do NOT keep them in the same cage. Keep them near eachother, and perhaps provide a nuetral place for them to interact? (we close off thte door to my husbands office and let the hamsters all run in their assorted hamster balls. That way, they meet and greet eachother with little danger to themselves from attack.) Hamsters, cute and sweet though they are, are terretorial little buggers and tend NOT to take kindly to others "intruding". Hope I don't sound harsh, especially after you so recently lost a furbaby. I just don't want to see you run out, get another, stick him in the cage and then wind up with two more deaths.

I agree with you male hamsters are very aggressive towards each other another hamster in another cage would probally be best

i agree with yous but i think she/he sorry i dont know witch one you are i think you should get another hammie but keep them sepreated because since ther brothers thay are the same age and soon the other one is probly going to pass over the next ? months and i think that another one would help her when the old one goes

sorry about your loss.maybe a new friend is a good idea.seens it seems that males dont get a long if your hammy is a male get him a female friend.
