I got two pet mice about a month ago. I recently noticed that one of them has formed a big bald spot on her upper back. I've also spotted the other mouse grooming that spot making the one with the bald spot squeak.

I know about mites but I don't know if this is from mites or the one mouse is grooming the other to the point of being bald!

I'm thinking about getting some mite spray just in case.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Do you have a vet you can call or take them to? I hope you get them taken care of. Good luck.

Is the skin dry or flaky? That could be mites, but sometimes mice do just groom each other excessivly. I'm guessing its overgrooming. Do you have toys, a large enough cage, a good diet for them? All these can affect them. Sometimes they just get board. Toilet paper tubes are great. And a solid wheel would be good too. You may already have these but just thought I'd mention them.

mice can also sometimes get aggressive with each other. Maybe you should try seperating them for a week or so and see if it goes away

do you have two male mice? two males tend to get aggressive. call a vet. see what he/she has to say.
