Hi Everyone!

I'm new here, and I have a concern. My next door neighbor got a new dog. I think the dog is very vicious. My dog Frankie (pug) stuck his paw at the fence and my neighbor's dog bit him on his paw. It bled alot and I can't tell how bad it is. My hubby cleaned it and now it is wrapped. I don't know if his dog has all his shots or anything. Now, Frankie hardly eats and drinks. He limps pretty bad..all he does is lie around and he doesn't play anymore..basically his not himself. I plan on taking him to the vet. What should I tell my neighbor? AND if there is a bill, should i give it him to pay? I don't want to sound rude. But I am concerned for Frankie. I have to check up on him all the time to make sure he won't get bitten again. Thank You! bye

Please take Frankie to a vet ASAP! I'd tell your neighbor right away that Frankie needs attention and the reason why, and worry about getting the bill paid later.

Good luck.

Welcome and sorry Frankie got hurt ---- when did this happen? If it were me I would have let the neighbor know what had happened - this way giving the neighbor the opportunity to offer to pay for the vet bill. This will also give you the opportunity to ask if the neighbor's dog has had all its shots. Try to catch the neighbor outside - introduce yourself and explain what happened and maybe invite the new neighbor over for coffee and a chat about what can be done to prevent future incidents.

I am sure your vet will ask if the neighbor's dog has had all it's shots ---- especially the rabies innoculation. Good Luck and let us know how everything works out.

As Love Bird B stated -- take Frankie to the vet a.s.a.p. and worry about the bill later.

Yes....get Frankie medical attention now and deal with the rest as it comes. If nothing else...for future referrence....double link the fencing facing the neighbor with the mean dog. It may prevent further harm in the future. Good luck and by the way.....my cats name is Frankie too..lol....Welcome to the forum...keep us posted.
