should I give cats water?

I live an apt. I think two stray cats roam around the place and outside. They often walk in my apt and I give them water which they drink quickly. my question is whethr or not I am doing the right thing by giving them water. will I create a dependacy?

...that depends if you don't mind two cats visiting you often! If you don't, then I'd say sure, go ahead and give them water though maybe (if you're not planning on keeping them) it'd be better to just put a bowl of water outside.
