Chibi woke up with diarrhea this morning. I've been cleaning up poop all day. Not fun...
Here's some back story - I had family over last night. They will feed dogs ANYTHING. I clearly told them not to, that they only eat dry kibble. I don't know if they fed him anything secretly, so I don't now if this is food-related or a medical problem. I'm currently keeping him hydrated and I restricted all food today.
I saw on here that boiled chicken and rice works well. I don't have chicken in the house right now and can't run out to get any...I'm recovering from an injury (another long story...) Would a chicken boullion cube work with the rice? Would just plain rice work?
Is there anything else that fixes this problem? If he still has this Monday (there are no weekend/emergency vets here) he's going to the vet.

Rice is always good. My mom swears by ground beef and rice for sick pups. If you have lamb that is good also. I am not real educated on it but also heard a little Caro syrup in water helps with food poisoning/allergy reaction. Pedialite is good too. I hope Chibi is okay. I will say prayer for him. Feel better Chibi!!

My 85lb collie has a very sensitive stomach, sometimes she'll get the runnies bad from just a few little bites of something. If I switched her to chicken and rice, it would continue.
Also, stress can give them the runs-all that company.
With my dog, I'd start by only giving her 1/2 of her usual kibble next meal if she eats at all. Hopefully Chibi will be okay by tomorrow afternoon, and by Sunday afternoon back to normal stools. Be prepared for a few more accidents.
Best wishes!

100% canned pumpkin works wonderful:) Keep that in mind if she ever gets it again. And it's good for them.

I've got to tell you, I TOO spent a good part of my afternoon cleaning up doggie diarrhea! In our case the culprit was too big of a gourmet dog cookie. My pup has a sensitive stomach and anything new added to his diet in too big an amount can cause problems.
The pumpkin is a good solution, plain rice with plain boiled chicken or beef would work too. But if it's just a case of having eaten the wrong thing, just restricting his food for a while should be sufficient. (Pumpkin and/or meat & rice is more for when the dog is ill with some kind of bug.) Today I just had my dog skip a meal, drink water, and then eat a normal kibble dinner. He's been fine since.

Peptobismol!! Feed your dog one pill every 3-4 hrs. Do not feed the dog for a day...& start feeding it again very little food at a time. But keep giving it Peptobismol...until the diarhea stops.
This worked for our 2 St. Bernards. Also it is reliable coz our vet suggested it.
You might want to talk to your vet about the dosage. But I gurantee you, it help s:).
