I can't seem to find anything suitable for my dog Penny to chew. She's got quite the jaw and is a very "determined" chewer.
Nylabones were the only thing she could chew that would last more than a few days.... but she cracked her 2 back teeth on them, so I am no longer buying Nylabones... Too hard.
Everything else I try to buy just does not hold up. She can chew through most hard plastic or rubber toys within hours....even Kongs.
Is there something else out there that I just don't know about?
Thanks for any help. :)

WOW...I can't believe your dog eats through Kongs!!! Those toys are almost indestructable!!! I'm sure you have looked at all the dog toys in the pet stores so you know what's out there. I can't imagine what else to offer your dog if it's eating everything. I guess you could give it a log to chew on!!! lol.
The polar bears at Seaworld chew on plastic 35 gallon drums and trees!!!
Go online and research indestructable dog toys and see what you can find.
Good luck!!

I am going to a pet trade show in April 7-9 and will check around for any new products out their that you might be able to get. Seems some dogs will chew through anything. Good Luck. WIll let you know what I find.

Have u looked into the knucklebones at walmart, they are real bones and they last my dogs a long time, they haven't yet finished the ones they have, they've had them for over a month now. They are quite large and keep my dogs teeth clean and them entertained.

jamiemarfurt,
I would classify your dog as a super chewer. Did you get him the Black kongs? they are made for superchewers that seem to eat through everything.

Thanks everyone!
You know, I had to go to the Kong website to see what you were talking about with the black kongs.... I've never seen them before! I was just at our 2 local petstores, and they just have the big red ones (which Penny can chew through). So I'll definitely have to find a black kong & buy one! Thank you! :)
It's weird, she's only about 55lbs but can chew through most anything. I did buy her this big rubber tire with a rag bone the other day. She's not interested in the really hard rubber toys for some reason (she would've chewed the next size smaller in a second). So hopefully I can stuff the black kong & she'll be interested in that one!
Rag bones keep her busy if I can find one big enough....She tries to untie the knots!

*LOL* yeah Merlin is only about 50 lbs and we were inspecting his kong that he's had for one week. Which is a red one and there's allready damage to it so it looks like we will be upgrading to a black kong ASAP!

I can't believe I never knew about the black kongs!! I'm excited to try it out (although a little worried it'll be too strong & Penny won't be interested..picky dog!)
What kind of dog is Merlin?

I have tried the red kongs with Magnum, but they are too whimpy.......lol. I switched over to the black kong and they stand up much better.:)

Raw marrow bones from your buthcer are the best "chew toys" you can buy!
