You can buy food online if you want to stay with the same food, I use petfooddirect.com but I don't know if they sell kirkland food.
You should switch the food slowly, usually over 2 weeks time. You have add a little bit of the new food to their food each day and then increase the mix until it's all the new food.

Don't know what stores you have in Canada, but I found this...
Kirkland C & R (available at Costco - made by Diamond)
Kirkland L & R (available at Costco - made by Diamond)
If you can't get it there are better foods out there any way , if you really want this food you can most likely oder online

Here are two sites that I have recommended before first one has the list from the Whole Dog Jounal with the criteria for picking a good food - www.dogaware.com and this site has an excellent comparison tool www.naturapet.com.
Diamond Pet foods market different foods under different names in different regions. So maybe you could check their site for a comparable food if you don't want to switch.
Good Luck!

Hi Cranky Pebs!
I would not recommend Kirkland or Diamond. The listing Patch provided by the Whole Dog Journal for best foods is a great one to go by. Where is your puppy arriving from? How old will he/she be?

Wellness is an excellent food and I looked at the site for Peformatrin Ultra and those ingredients were great too! Glad you were able to find some super premiums. Be sure and post pics of your pup when you get her/him!

Well, I remember when I first got my puppy he was a black lab and we were going through many small bags of food to see what he liked then we found Natural Choice(NUTRO) my dog loved even to today.
Well the vet we go to said my dog has the best he has ever seen and it was from the food.

Not all Diamond foods are bad, my dogs eat Chicken Soup and I personally think it's a great food.
