I just moved, so I've been without the internet for a week. I'm finally back so I thought I'd share some more baby pics. My friend later decided to take the 3rd baby instead of the last one. Jewel turned out to be the chewiest of the bunch, and I don't think she will be going to the home we originally planned for her, because she would be their first bird, and I think she would scare them. I'm working on teaching Jewel what is too hard for fingers. I might still let them take her home for a few weeks and see if they think they still want to buy her. I don't want anyone to be unhappy. She turned out to be my very favorite, but I have since decided against get another bird at all right now, so I have even postponed getting my baby red front. I just moved, so I want to make sure I know what I can afford to care for before I get another bird.
Anyway, baby pics. They are starting to wean now and are flying all over the place. Here they are all together. This was a really hard picture to get because someone would fly in my hair just as I snapped the picture.
The baby in the front is the youngest. From left to right they go, 2nd, 3rd (Sunny), 1st (Jewel), Mom (Peanut), Dad (Butter).

And since the baby wasn't looking in the other picture, here's some of just him. I caught his first flight on camera this morning. And I thought the other one was just way too cute.

They sure grew up fast and beautiful! What did you decide about whether to move the miligold with you or leave her with Mom?

It seems like just yesterday they were so tiny! I love the colors and that shot of the bird in flight is super.

The miligold thing was really hard on me actually. After reading all the replies to my other post and thinking about what was best for her, I sat down with my mom and told her maybe she should keep her. I don't think she ever expected me to agree to that, but she ended up changing her feelings and saying that she would miss me and so on so she thought she should come with me. Well, I asked no more questions and she came with me, which I now still think was a bad idea. I've heard greys were bad with moves and change, and macaws were quite a bit more adaptable, so Hayley was the one I was more worried about. I brought them here and let them settle in for the night, and get used to their new room. Katrina and Hayley have been here for a week now. Katrina took it really bad. She's scared to be in any room besides her own room. Sometimes she doesn't even want me to hold her. She bit me and made me bleed twice. I just keep trying to introduce her to everything slowly, and give her extra time and hugs. She's getting used to my room now, but she still hates going down stairs.
Hayley on the other hand woke up the next moring and decided it was time to explore. She flys up and down the halls. She goes into each new room by herself and checks everything out. I wanted her to learn to fly down stairs so I open the door to her her room and ran down stairs. This was the very next day after the move. She flew to the rail on the loft and looked down at me like "how on earth did you get down there?" She jumped off the rail, tried to get down and then turned and went back up. She never had to fly down so steep before. I'd say within 5 minutes of standing on the rail, she tried her lucky and swooped down to me. She struts around like she owns the whole house.
Peanut and Butter were a little scared the first day, but they are ok now. The babies couldn't care less. As long as me, Peanut, or Butter is putting food in their mouths, they're happy campers.

I have to agree with Gems, Jaylene. I love the picture of them all together...that is a gorgeous picture! I bet that has been an exciting venture you went through with raising all those baby conures. I love Louie and he is a green cheek. I have to commend you on your dedication to your birds and it is very apparent that you always have their needs and wants right up there with yours. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are beautiful. What a great bird mom you are. Healthy and happy. I am sure it was a hard move. Glad to hear you all are settling in okay. I bet it will be hard to let them all go but with your wonderful dedication they will make some special people very happy.
