They're called mutts ;) . Please keep any and all solicitations for the selling of puppies in the classified section of the board. Thank you.

Did you mean to breed these dogs? If not why weren't they fixed? If you meant to do this why? They can be called either mutts, mixed breeds, or crossbreeds. Sorry, I just get upset when things like this happen.

I agree. The common name is mutt, mixed breed, mongrel, crossbreed. If you were looking for a "cute" name to call your mixes in order to sell them I will not be part of that name game.

I had an Irish setter/Weim cross when I was a boy. It was the best dog I ever had. She was black and skinny and I could not teach her anything because she already knew how to hunt and fetch. Let me know how your pups turn out.

I'm sitting here in shock, wondering why on earth someone would breed 2 different breeds (their pets) then ask what to call them. There are so many homeless dogs in shelters and here you are making more. I ask WHY?????? I better not say any more.

I am aware that people cross breed to supposedly get hybrid vigor and the best of both breeds. While I am against this breeding in the first place I have to say that for the life of me I cannot imagine a worse combination than Irish Setter/Weimaraner. Both breeds have very vigorous exercise requirements, they are both "bouncy" and display exuberant jumping tendencies, both breeds are notorious for having separation anxiety, and they are both known for having "minds of their own" and can be quite stubborn. The only hopeful thing from this disastrous crossing would be that the produce got more of the irish setter's tendency to be good natured and friendly with other animals. That is on the offshoot that the irish setter is a very well bred one. Haven't seen too many of those since the breed was virtually ruined by BYBs and puppy mills many years ago. Other than that it blows my mind that someone would purposely think to breed these two. ACK!
