yesterday i went out icefishing with my dad and friend for a few hours, we got back around 1:40 in the afternoon, i noticed a little later that milly was acting very strange, she was cowering and acting like someone had beat her malishously! her head was bent is an "s" like form, her tiny stump was pressed hard to her rump, and she was squinting horrably..

i watched her walk and she was still walking that way even if nobody was approahing her, so i call ed my sister over to take a took, i showed her how she was walking and acting, and she told me that she thinks she fell down the stairs, and that the cat scratched her eye, upon further examination of her eye, it appeared like a tiny prick had punctured her eye, the cat scenario semed correct, the prick area was also cloudy.

i looked for my daad but he was outside somewheres, and i wasnt felling up to go looking, so i went to the coutch and started watching tv, i looked over, and milly was sleping, but it dident look like she was a happy sleeper, soi went over and picked her up on the blanket she was lying on, and brought her over to where i was sitting, she never opened her eyes. i had her curl up on my lap but after a short while, she still couldent get confortable, but she still never opend either of her eyes.

not thinking too much of it, i let her down, and then shortly after i fell asleep, i woke up a little after 6:00 and i asked where milly was, and miranda (sister)said she was at the vet, i said "did dad take her?" and she said that my mom had come back from her frined's house and took her then, miranda told me milly had a concussion and a badly scratched eye.

my mom got home abou 15 minuets later and told me that milly had brain damage, and might go blind in the scratched eye, she said she dident know if either problems would get better, or not. she sidshe couldent recongnise what a shadow was, or what her reflection was (she wasnt affected to mirrors when she was little, we introduced one early on) but she was acting like she was seeing another dog, she doesnt like to be touched anywhere near the head, and has to be aproached while talking, butcasue she is in so much pain (basicly she has a splitting migrane) and her eye was to painfull that the puple was extra tiny, and that her eye was pulsing.

this morning i heard my mom say that mill was doing better, and that she is able to move at a trot now, but like explained that might happen, she is currently blind in that eye, we dont know if it is perminant right now or not.

that is so sad - I am happy your mom took her in as soon as she got home. Dogs can be fine without their vision - just be hopeful that she recovers soon. she still has another eye too so she will get better and hopefully be the same old girl

she is doing a little better today, her scratched eye, isnt actualy scratched, there is a CHUNK taken out of it! its like a 3mm circle, her yeys are now open, but the wounded eye is clowded over, and we arnt so sure how well she can see, she is going back to the vet like tomorrow.
