I didn't know this dog, but he touched my heart, and then broke my heart.

He was found as a stray in Coweta County, GA. The shelter there uses gas chambers to euthanize the animals. He was put up for adoption on 2/8/06 and killed in the gas chamber on 2/9/06, before he even had 24hrs to be adopted. The person that killed him though, knew well that the rescue was coming the next day (today) for him! But they killed him anyway, because they felt like it.

This dog touched the hearts of many, and so many worked so hard to get him out of that hell whole.

This is a sad reminder that you need to spay and neuter your pets. Unless you are breeding to show or work them, there is no need to breed.

This is his shelter video.

Rest peacefully sweet Tusmura.

I hate when that happens - I have seen it myself. I hope the rescue took another dog? as many as possible?

Well, the rescue was supposed to take all 4 dogs that were killed. This one happened to touch our heart the most.... and I believe they did take other dogs in their place.

I don;t get it - sometimes I wonder why people do what they do - when I worked at the shelter, I found many animals had "disappeared" that were actually wanted but not available for adoptions. Some think "there are millions more that are available but the truth is, less people will take the ones that need time to heal or more socialization so they need us

Dear Tusmura, I am sorry you were not the cute little puppy that everyone wants to buy or adopt. I am sorry you had to endure such a horrific end to your life, but you are now tearless, your lungs no longer feel like they are collapsing, and you are running and playing at Rainbow Bridge with the many who preceded you.

Rest in peace sweet Tusmura.

That was nice Magnum. Lots of tears have been shed for this sweet soul, and the other animals that died in that box with him........

The thought of all those babies, every day, choking, crying, gasping, their eyes stinging from the gas in "the box" breaks my heart. I hate humans in times like these.

Me too..... and people wonder why I prefer to spend time with my dog over my human friends... dogs are not evil.

Ditto. I almost cried seeing that, just thinking what they went through. Everyone will get what's coming to them in the end. It's just sad these animals had to get in the way of their journey there. It makes me SICK. RIP Leta, Bitsy, Alison, Chrissy, and Tusmura. And poor Bitsy! She didn't even get to see what a life IS!! ARGH..OK I'm getting out of this thread before I cry or kill someone....

That is so sad! What sweet cute dogs those were, I would have taken them all if it was possible. :( I want to cry. I can't believe they would euthanize them when someone was coming to get them the next day! That is so sad!

This is just terribly wrong. What type of person could do that knowing they were going to get picked up and out of their way the very next day??????? They will be very sorry trying to explain all this someday when they meet their maker.
