I am traveling right now for work and staying in a hotel with my two Basset's Duke and Sophie.

The last couple of days Sophie has had bumps on her head. Their are only about 3 of them but they do not seem to be going away. They are about the size of a mosquito bite and do not seem to bother her at all. I have checked them out and the skin is not red or irritated at all. So I am really confused and figured I would see what someone thought here! I plan to take her to the vet if they stay a few more days... Duke has had cysts removed before but they were much bigger and felt much different.

I appreciate any advice or guesses people may have!

The bumps can be different things, possibly insect bites. It's also possible that they are small cysts that are harmless, but may grow... its really hard to say. Please do take her to the vet if they dont go away. Mosquito bites can transmit Lyme Disease to animals, which can be fatal.
Please keep us updated :)

Hello. I am a veterinarian. These "bumps" that you speak of certainly can be insect bites. However, insect bites typically will cause redness, irritation, discomfort. Other possibilities include miliary dermatitis or sebaceaous cysts. Keep a close eye on them for resotution, persistence, or worsening. If they hang around for longer than 2 weeks or change in size and color, I would recommend having her seen by your vet. Remember, disease is always better dealt with when caught early. Good luck to you. Please feel free to email me or reply if you have any further question. Also, please check out my new veterinary advice and health management website, http://www.askdvm.com

P.S.: for squawksx3, mosquitos transmit heartworm disease in dogs. Lyme disease is transmitted exclusively by the ixodes species of tick.
