Hello Wolf, So very nice to meet you and welcome aboard! My name is Gail and I loved your poem. My daughter published 3 poems and its in the book of poems. Called the national book of poems. Its on line and maybe one day I will get her to let me post it up here, so some that may be intrested will read what she wrote. One of them is about her best friend named Mondy, that was killed by a drunk driver! this was 5 years ago. They were to be married. Poor Poor Mondy and Sarah! anyway you sound like a very smart ,person. Hope you have a great time here as we all do. Oh by the way, its very hard to say hi to every one new here, because so many joined at the same time. Its hard to keep up! so welcome. Gail

Hey There Wolf_Luver..
You got me there because I do not know where he originated but he was beautifull! He looked to me like the artic wolves. He was a gray color. She called him "Max". It broke her heart when he passed away and the really bad part the vet thought maybe he was poisoned....but she never knew who would do such a thing. Her yard was chain linked all the way around. He never bothered no one unless he thought his momma was in danger then he was very very protective!!!! She loved him so much. She is doing better now....at least she can talk about him with out crying. I felt so bad for her. She lives so far from home(about 10 hours) but we are going to go see her for Thanksgiving.

HELLO to you there in England Wolf-Luver. Welcome to our board.

Thanks for sharing that absolutely beautiful poem....I love poetry.

I have 6 lovely birds:

1 Maximillian Pionus
1 Cockatiel
4 Budgies

Wolves are beautiful majestic creatures. I am not sure owning a hybrid is a safe thing, but in the wild they seem to rule the world.

Tell us more about your pets.

I agree with you Mrs. Birdy. I don't think wolves are mean't for captivity. I'm not sure where Max came from but Wendy spent every minute she could walking...grooming and keeping a bond with Max. She has said also that she would not want another one unless it was a case of someone starting something they could not finish and getting put down was the only option left. She is like us.....they are very majestic and do not belong in captivity. She discourages anyone who thinks they would like one for a pet. She loved Max very dearly but she also knew that in a chainlink fenced yard was not where he belonged!
She's thinking of taking one of my baby 'tiels for a pet...lol...what a switch....

Go see wild cockatiels flying beautifully in Australia, then you won't think they belong in captivity either. ;)

You got me there Jenny. I really did not mean to imply that our pets are not worthy of their freedom. What I was trying to get at was wolves never really tame. If you own one you spend 24/7 on your guard looking for signs that this animal has had enough. Kind of like I do with my grey....only I risk a bad bite here and the wolf owner risks his life. My daughter educated herself to be aware of all potential problems and knew at any given time he could "turn" on her. She fought for him in her divorce because she loved him and the other option was being put down. He led a very leisure life with her with love and respect. BUT she will be the first to tell you it was not the bonded trust and love you have with your more traditional pets because you actually never turn your back on one and walk away because they reguard that as a surrender (in the wild). I sure did not mean to leave the impression that certain animals or birds deserve more freedom than others. I'm so sorry if I did.
