Get him fixed now, don't wait for six months because that's when they really start doing adult things and if they have those bad habits before they are fixed, more than likely they will continue after being fixed. I have had several pets fixed at five months. I waited later on my pom and he still humps a blanket occasionally.

He will probably outgrow the habit with the stuffed animals. However, even neutering doesn't guarantee he's leave Teetee alone. I have a male standard poodle who was neutered at 5 mos. 1 1/2 yrs later I got a female standard & had her spayed at 5 mos. They are now 5 & 3 yrs old. To this day, from time to time, I catch Farley attempting to breed her. I just yell NO and he stops. I understand it is embarrassing in front of company but it is their nature.

I agree... neuter him now. We just had a 13 week old male pitbull neutered... there are those who oppose neutering/spaying that young, but being involved in rescue, you have no choice... the alternative is death. And I have never seen any problems or complications with any of these animals later on in life.
"humping" is also a form of domination... to show who is in control of the pack... therefore, it may never totally go away. Let them know that its not acceptable behavior and it may ease off a bit. Good luck :)

I have to agree, get him fixed. That's what we are going to do with our Dachshund, cause he does the same thing and he's four years old. At one time I did have another male Dachshund and he did the same thing we got him fixed when he was five years old and he stopped humping things. I hope I was some help. Darlene B.

I think you should neuter him now too. When I get my dog next year that's one of the first few things I'm going to do.

I think he is trying to be the leader over everything. When he does this to you get one of his toys to play with to distract he from doing that. barbara hatc
