What would you rather have as a pet dog or cat?

I don't have a dog at present, but I love dogs...I grew-up with a beautiful miniature poodle..she was the best. If I have the opportunity to get a dog, it would be a Miniature Pinchser.

I would rather have a dog because to me dogs are just more payful than most cats are.

We have lizards upstairs and birds on the first floor

I had dogs as a kid and cats ever since. I love cats, but I also love dogs. If I had a place with plenty of room, I would have a dog in addition to a cat. But since I have JP, there won't be any new additions any time soon.

If I had to choose....hmmm...that's a tough one. Probably a cat, but I'm sort of allergic to them so then again maybe a dog. Either really, I've had a dog before & loved him to pieces and currently have two cats which I love as well. My conclusion: BOTH.

I like cats better than dogs but love dogs better than cats. It's gotta be a toss up. I love both and wouldn't part with my dog or cat. Luv

Well I have both dogs & a cat but I honestly have to say dogs are my preference. Cats are just too darn independent but they have their sweet sides too. Dogs are just so much better for companionship, exercise, fun & loyalty. JMO

Hey, cats can exercise with you too! lol I had a kitten who woudl follow me right at my heels outside when I ran...so adorable. =)

Oh my goodness....what a decision. I love them both. I had a very special dog for 14 years. He died with cancer in 1987 I believe. I have never owned a dog sinse. I have a cat who is now 11 and I love her to pieces. Soooooo I don't think I can choose so I will say.........BOTH!

I love dogs. I never had one growing up. I have one now. Cats are nice but I like the fact that he depends on me. He got me through a tough time in my life so yeah I'd have to say I'm a dog girl.

I wuold have to say dogs I think if you want a more active pet you gotta choose dogs. Some cats ae active, but not as much as dogs.

I've had at least one dog or cat all my life and I can't say I ever disliked either. To this day, I have two dogs and one cat, and I could never choose which animal is my favorite. They each have their own traits that make me love them all to death!

I like both dogs and cats but overall I prefer dogs. Actually the real reason why I don't like cats as much is because they scratch!
