This was sent to one of my other groups. Too bad it has already been won. Appropriate name for the jerk that won the auction, wouldn't you say? I am so against hunting to begin with. Canned hunts, I can not even fathom what makes a person feel special for being able to kill a penned animal. MAKES ME SICK!!!

people are really screwed up. I think we should be happy that it is not as common on places such as ebay. Maybe we can submit comments to ebay about how we feel ???

I am not a hunter, but my father and uncle were and still are. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with hunting. I think it instills good values with children and allows some one-on-one time with parents and children. Must eat the meat and use the hide, however.
Anyways, canned hunts like this are ridiculous. There is no sportsmanship, no skills required...nothing exciting about the kill, nothing rewarding in the challenge, no team-building with family members or friends.
With that said, I don't see how it's illegal or can be stopped. I doubt the animal suffers either (so long as the hunter isn't a buffoon).
So, is eBay open to complaints and how would we go about complaining?

I have trouble putting good values and killing together.
How about a little one on one time using a camera instead of a gun??

Do you or your pets eat meat, wear leather, live in a modern home, or drive a car? If so, then you're guily of killing, albeit not directly, but these actions cause animal deaths. Deaths that can be far more cruel than a bullet...animal displacement through deforrestation to built homes or factories can result in starvation and suffering. It can also result in environmental contamination which could degrade an animal's quality of life.
I too despise some forms of killing, but I accept respectful, responsible, humane killing of animals as a necessary part of live.

To John Olexa, You Are Obviously A True Animal Lover, Don't Waste Your Time Trying To Get Through To Someone Who Is On This Website, Not Out Of A Love For Animals, But Just To Irritate People! You Have More To Do Than Deal With Craigminah

if it is disturbing enough to the general public and obvisouly will get attention then maybe the will just decide to stop - and I don't agree to the "I doubt the feel anything" I think this is a huge problem even with factory farming - when animals are not able to live on their natural instincts they must endure a great deal of suffering, just knowing it is not right.

TO JOHN OLEXA:
Okay, I respect your opinion on animals. I am an animal lover and I'm not much for hunting myself, not for sport anyway. But let me tell you this: it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE not to have SOMETHING to do with killing an animal. If you drive a car, you had something to do with killing animals because you are driving on the road which was built over some animal's habitat, which probably killed it. If you live in a house, you have also contributed to killing an animal due to habitat loss. And even if you only eat plants, you STILL have something to do with hurting the animals because animals too eat plants and humans just eat all the plants they eat.
And in my opinion, I think it's wrong to have your dog be a vegetarian, because dogs by NATURE were born to eat meat and it's unfair to them to force your lifestyle of eating onto them. It's fine with me if people want to stuff their bodies with plants instead of meat, but it irritates me when they go around telling others how THEY should eat and stuff like that. I'm not saying you do that all the time, because I don't know you. But anyways...that's my opinion straight out.

Your Right John, You Did Not Tell Anyone How To Live Their Life, Or What To Eat, This Is Another Person Who Is Not Paying Attention To What They Are Reading, You Keep On With Your Good Work, And Eat And Live The Way You Choose To, These People Will Look For Anyway To Make You Feel Bad, My God, Driving On A Road, Living In A House, These Are Things We Have To Do, That Does Not Mean We Can't Try To Do The Best We Can For All Animals.

Wow, I keep trying to lye a bit low in here for fear that someone will call me an ass#$@! lol John I think the majority of goo dpet owners try to live their lives with great compassion. I appreciate your efforts

It's good that we're all passionate about animal rights in way form or another. I would hope we are equally passionate about other forum member's rights and beliefs, even if we don't agree with them. I appreciate these good discussions. Let's not call each other names, however.

And I think, John, that you need to go back and read my paragraph again. I specifically stated that I didn't know whether you did that or not, because I don't know you, but after hearing your response I'm rather glad I don't know you. What do you feed your dog, if you don't feed her meat?

Some one make accusations about me or more, saying I'm not treating my dog right. there gonna hear it. If you don't like it. thats too bad. Don't make accusations about me that you can't back up!

Respecting opinions is one thing, making accusations that i'm mistreating my dog is another!
Since you first joined we haven't seen eye to eye on anything.
'cept your landlord thread
Fuzzy Kitten
01-01-2006, 03:25 PM
Yeah well who wouldn't see eye to eye with me on the landlord thread, except the landlord:D
All I know about your dog is that you feed her veggies rather than meat. Although I think it's unhealthy for a dog, she's not my dog so I won't say anymore there, she's your dog and you can treat her how you like. It's way better than dumping her on a street like many irresponsible owners do:mad:
Okay so anyways...back on topic of ebay.
John Olexa
01-01-2006, 03:35 PM
Again, Fine anywhere where I said I feed her veggies rather then meat. No I don't give meat perse, but she gets treats, she gets dog food from a company that don't tests on animals.
Back to ebay? Me & Carig were still talking about hunting. Heck your the one who changed it to start with!! LOL

Sorry, had to get my opinions out:D
When it comes to hunting, I don't hunt myself but I think it's fine for those who want to use all of the animal they kill. What really ticks me off is when they kill a deer just for the antlers:mad:
John Olexa
01-01-2006, 03:50 PM
I don't like it period. But your right, killing just for the rack is the worst!
Not that this canned hunt crap is any better.

I agree with John and Fuzzy Kitten. Killing for trophy prizes or "sport" without proper use of entire animal is wrong.
Fuzzy Kitten
01-01-2006, 04:29 PM
If you slap a child, it's considered abuse. If you kill a deer to stare at its head on a wall, it's considered skill. Yeah whatever:rolleyes:
