Oh walleye...I am so sorry!!!
Water based latex paints are supposed to be less dangerous to birds than other types like oil based paints, but you never know for sure what other chemicals have been used in the paint for tint or durability, etc.
You might want to take her to a vet to have them run tests to know for sure, but I think it probably was the fumes.
My heart goes out to you! :(

I am truly so very sorry for your loss the the bird. I worked in a pet store that raised and sold their own birds, they were highly careful about perfume being too strong, no smoking, so it might of done that. They cannot take much, very little in fact. Very sorry. They are beautiful birds

I too am sorry for your loss and tend to agree with the others that it was the fumes. Please let us know for sure when you find out. We often hear don'y use candles, don't smoke etc. but sometimes hearing don't use this because it killed my bird goes alot further. Sending hugs to you.

ty everyone for you replies, i will post when i find out the results. its so sad she just turned 7 months one on the 29th. i will miss her so much.
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news Walleye :(
You have to be so careful with paint. I just painted my bedroom which is a few doors away from the birds room. I used Sherwin Williams Harmony range which is non toxic and has zero VOC's. I pugged the gaps in the door and had all the windows open and two fans going full blast. I'm happy to say it didn't affect them one little bit, of course I was pretty sure it wasn't going but you are always going to worry.
I'm sorry you lost your macaw :(
