Night before last, Lilo came into the hallway and threw up in the floor. I figured it was a hairball, but it was undigested food. She seemed fine though and even went back to her food dish and ate some more! It stayed down. Anyway, yesterday she was sneezing all day, and this morning, when she meowed, she seemed hoarse. She has acted like she feels fine. She smacks Lucy when she walks by, she gets up in my lap and strokes my face with her paw, she is eating great. I just wondered if cats get colds like we do? She did stay inside all day yesterday and didn't ask to go out. However, this morning, she was standing at the back door, wanting outside so I did let her out. (She will use the litter box, but prefers the great outdoors to do her business. She always comes right back in if it's cold or nasty out. A pretty day she will stay out longer) Is there anything I can or should give her? A trip to the vet is out since my DH's work car isn't working and he drives my van to work. He won't be home until after the vet's office is closed. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Like I said, she seems to feel fine other than her sneezing.

Cats do get colds. They are called upper respiratory infections. The vet would give you meds for him/her. One thing a vet once suggested to me, if they have mucus when they sneeze, is to bring them in the bathroom while you take a hot shower. The steam will help them clear or break up the mucus.

Getting her into the bathroom with me would not be a problem! Her two favorite things to do are to sit on the potty and watch you while you take a shower and then to check out the potty before it's flushed (eewww)! I'll try that later today. Thank you.

My cat also likes to sit on the potty while I am in the shower. After I get out, he likes to lick the water drops on the curtain. LOL
