How did the Russian Spaniel dog Breed come about?
jonesy zoo
01-05-2006, 05:21 PM
well here is something for ya....and I just found out myself...
Claim: Coca-Cola was originally green.
Status: False.
Origins: Though this tidbit of knowledge has been widely distributed as part of an Internet "Did You Know?" list, at no time in Coca-Cola's history has that beverage been green. The original formula called for caramel to give Coca-Cola its rich brown color, and although the recipe has undergone some changes through the years, none of them affected the ultimate color of the product.
(Brown also hides impurities in any given batch, something the backroom chemist who invented Coca-Cola in 1886 kept well in mind as he proceeded with his formulation. These days syrup producers and bottlers have no impurities to hide, but back in the "three copper kettles in somebody's basement" days, covering up what might have inadvertently dropped into the mix was a concern, and brown hid indiscretions remarkably well.)
Coke has at times been bottled in green glass bottles, which perhaps explains the popularity of this particular rumor.

whats your favorite ice cream flavor?
jonesy zoo
01-09-2006, 05:37 PM
not sure how ya got ostrich out of horse but yep the ostrich is the largest bird and i think the horse is.. Brookie a 19.2h 3900lb Percheron. He had a girth size of 10 ft. and his collar was 40 inches. He died in 1948. this is another horse named Bill which some people believe he was the largest horse...Bill The World's Largest Horse ever recorded was a Shire gelding named Samson, bred by Thomas Cleaver of Toddington Mills, England. Foaled in 1846, this horse measured 21.2 1/2 hand high ( 7 ft. 2 inches) in 1850, and weighed 3,360 pounds.Samson is also recorded as the "HEAVIEST" horse weighing 1524 kg (3360 lbs.)
and the largest bred today is the Percheron, breed of working horse native to France, one of the most popular large breeds in the world. The Percheron was developed in the La Perche region of Normandy (Normandie) from which it takes its name. I know too much time on my hands...but this is what I do when I cant sleep at night....I look up all these kind of things....
As for my favourite Ice cream it would have to be MANGO...

What is there to fear about age? I'm proud of every gray hair and wrinkle, I've earned them all.
Other than a few aches and pains I'm happier and feel better than I ever have. Really, who here would want to be a teenager again? What wisdom I do have was hard won and there is no way I would want to take that class again. I'm happy going for my PhD in Life's Studies and throwing a knowing grin and a helping hand to those just starting their studies.
Ok fine, PhD is stretching it a bit, I'm only 47.

Okay Jonesy! You and I can droop together. hehe. Yeah I have always liked older men. Now don't go anylizing it! I have sisters for that-8 of them!
Okay okay. He is my favorite painter of his time. Paul Gauguin. He and Van Gogh lived together on and off. Van Gogh was a seminary drop out, Gauguin, a drunk. They kind of looked out for on another for a while. Both completey wacko but great great artists. Gauguin is the one who left his family and moved to Tahiti. He was seduced by the island and its barely clad women. He painted many of them of course. You would recognize his work. I am sure of it. Hey Tahiti isn't too far from you is it?

do you enjoy watching a storm ? I find it the most amazing thing to watch...
Arlo's Dad
01-19-2006, 10:52 PM
Storms are great. I used to love walking through the nastiest blizzards mother nature could throw at me. We don't get storms like that anymore. Thunderstorms are great if I'm not in the middle of it. I like shelter.
