I got this in an email from the ASPCA. It is a list which each state and the new and amended laws for animal cruelty for 2005.

"2005 End of Session Reports

Many humane bills to combat cruelty and improve the lives of animals were signed into law during state legislative sessions in 2005. Unfortunately, many anticruelty measures also died, and even worse, some inhumane legislation was passed. Here is a state-by-state recap of the fate of some important animal-welfare bills."

I found it interesting to see what laws they made.

Thanks for posting this Riley! You beat me to it....lol. It is very interesting to see each state and their basic outlook on the care of animals in general. Alabama is very disappointing, to say the least.:( Other states are getting better, so that is good to see.:)

Thanks for posting this important info. Until now, I had no idea what the laws for Texas were on this issue.

Maryland Sucks!

Email just sent to my dear GOVERNOR EHRLICH

Maryland had one of the worst years of all the states in 05 when it came to combating aninal cruelty!

Black bear hunt HB 371 FAILED!

Leghold trap ban HB 372 FAILED!

Ferret protection act HB 620 FAILED!

Exotic pet ban HB 339 FAILED!

Horse transport HB721 FAILED!

Aggravated Cruelty PenaltyIncrease HB 1300 FAILED!

Cruelty Clarification HB 1415 FAILED!

Steel -jaw leghold trap ban HB 258 FAILED!

Minimum Crate Size SB 470 FAILED!

Hunting Preservation HB 1086 passed ( Big deal)

Wrongful death/ injury HB 941 passed ( the only decent thing done!)

That is just sickning! Can't wait to get this in the paper come election time.

Trust me I WILL NOT vote for EHRLICH And will remind all animal rights/ animal lovers of this too.

Yeah John, Maryland Really Does Suck! But What I Have Seen In Most States Is That Politicians, Most Politicians Are More Interested In Helping People With Deep Pockets, Than Helping An Innocent Animal. People Who Love Animals Like Us Are The Minority, What A Sad Fact.
