Today when I let my kitty inside the house, I noticed that his ear was bleeding and part of the ear flap was torn. It doesn't appear to be a serious injury, but I'm not sure if we'll be able to get him to the vet for stitches. Is there any safe way to promote proper healing so the damaged part of his ear will eventually heal back together? I've been trying to use a band-aid to hold it in place, but with little luck. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I guess this depends on how serious the tear is. I would clean it thouroughly with hydrogen peroxide and put some anitbiotic ointment on it. Watch it to make sure that it is not getting infected. I have had cats with minor torn ears that did just fine and then I had Ming, who's ear got frostbite when she was accidently let out one day, that needed the ear tip removed and a couple of stiches. I would keep a close eye on it.
