Hi,

I am getting a new puppy (shih tzu) and have decided the safest thing for the pup while I am at work or nobody is home is to have a crate. My house has 3 floors and I would like to have a crate in my room on the third floor for night time (a smaller crate) and a crate in the kitchen for the day (larger crate). My question is, will this confuse the puppy as to where his "safe place is"?

THANKS! :)

It is absolutely fine to use more than one crate. But a crate that is too big will become a 'potty' place as well as den . I wouldn't use a big crate. The pup should only be able to stand , lay down and turn around in it until they are fully trained. You can buy dividers for the wire crates if needed.
