Well folks, I finally did it. I applied on line to give a rabbit a home from the local humane soc. I am looking forward to my new bun-fun on Saturday. I have a nice cage inside my house, plenty of timothy hay and lots of love to give. Lucky is looking forward to it too, but only with adult supervision.

Congratulations!!!. Good for you!. Did you bring your little bun-fun home yet?. Hows it going?. Whats its name?.
We had a family turn in a registered purebred Longhaired Doxie to the dog rescue a few weeks ago. The dog is 2 yrs old and they'd had her since she was a puppy. They came home one day and the doxie had killed their pet rabbit. The kids found the rabbit scattered all over the room and were so upset, they couldn't even look at the dog. They called the rescue that night to get rid of her. They obviously didnt realize that doxies were originally bred to burrow and go after small animals. It was really sad. The doxie was so gorgeous, sweet and good natured... the good news is she was adopted today to a wonderful home... that doesn't have rabbits!. Keep a watchful eye on your new little bunny and give it a hug for us :)

OMG, what a horrible story. I would be so horrified if I came home and found one of our pets scattered all over the livingroom....let alone what it would do to the kids. That makes me mad that the owners didn't protect the rabbit more! But I'm glad that the little doxie has a wonderful new family (without rabbits).
Anyway, Congratulations lucky'smom! Can't wait to hear stories about your new baby. I used to have a rabbit (when I was a teenager) and he was really sweet. He learned how to walk on a leash and we would get "funny looks" from people in the neighborhood during the summer time when I would go out with him for a walk. I'm not sure what kind of rabbit he was but he was HUGE.

That is so cute Amanda. Here where I live is a very small town,so if someone is different you know them by seeing them. one women here has a rabbit and walks with him everywhere. She has him in her front pack and walks with him to the grocery store etc. He's the sweetest little baby around. she dresses him to the season's and its very fun to see her and what her furry baby looks like today. How cute. Keep us posted on your new part of the family!
