Mathew, I'm so sorry to hear about your kitten! I know how much you must love him. It's okay to feel sad about your pet. We all feel sad when our best buddies are sick and we are trying to help them get well again. I'm sure the vet checked him over good and probably saw the ear. Hopefully the shot will help him to get better and you will be able to play together again! Do you have any other pets? Are cats your favorite kind of pet? Do you have a picture of your kitten that you can post? Maybe your mom or dad could help you put the picture on Petlovers. We would love to see your kitty.

Mathew, so sorry to hear about your cat. You were right to take it(girl? boy?) to the vet. Your cat might have an ear infection and something like that can make a cat throw up and not be able to stand and there can be blood from that too. The shot was probably medicine that will help your cat get better but for something like this it's very important that that medicine is given every day. Did the vet give your mom and dad some pills to take home and give your cat? Please ask because this is very important. Someone I know has a cat who went through this. He said he didn't know that when a cat doesn't drink it can get dehydrated- that means the body really gets thirsty for water but doesn't have any way to get it because the cat isn't drinking any water. That might be the " water" your vet gave to your cat( did he give it by needle under the skin?) but it's very important that your cat keeps getting that water. Ask your mom or dad to pinch the back of your cat's neck . If it stays pinched looking it means that your cat needs more water. If it stays pinched a little bit then your mom or dad might be able to give it with an eyedropper but if it's staying pinched looking alot then your cat needs to see a vet who can give him that water in the way he did before. When a vet does that it also feeds your cat in a different way than when your cat eats food. That water is a special kind of water that feeds just like food but in a different way than food because it's put under the skin. Please tell your mom or dad about this because it's really important.
No matter what your vet said, just keep up your hope( like we all here are doing) that your cat will get better. Please keep posting here and let us know how you and your cat are doing. That's why we're here. To try and help as much as we can.

Matthew I am so sorry to hear about your kitty being sick. Did the vet explain to you, mom & dad what you could be doing for the kitty at home? Maybe ask mom & dad if one of them could help you dribble some water into the kitties mouth.
