Marble, our 16 yr old, made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge on wednesday. The vet said she had a mass in her intestines and required surgery. There was no guarantee the surgery would be successful or that she would even make it through the surgery at her age. I love her too much to put her through it... she went home to play with the angels.
Early one morning in 1989, I woke up to screaming outside my bedroom window. I went outside and found this little white ball of fur, with two big blue eyes looking at me in the bushes. She was 5 weeks old... someone had dumped her. She was very loving... with a strong, independent spirit. She slept on our bed with us every night for the past 16 years. We will miss her so much and she'll live forever in our hearts. We feel fortunate to have been able to love and have her for the past 16 years... its so very hard to let go.
Rest in peace little angel.... until we meet again.....

What a beautiful picture of both you & Marble! Such a warm and cuddly memory. I am so sorry that you had to let Marble go, but bless you for not putting her through questionable surgury and stuff. It is very hard to let them go and now as my kitty is going thru her 16th year I treasure every day with her. So everyone out there give you special pet all the love you can while they are here with us. So sorry Jan. We are here for you.

I don't know why this was so difficult for me to reply to. I have been sitting on Marble's thread here forever and getting all choked up. Maybe it is because Marble's passing has flooded me with memories today of all the senior pets I have had to let go over time, maybe it is because I was so hoping Marble was going to be alright. I am not sure but I do know that I am so very sorry that you have lost your treasured friend Jan. There is a new star in the sky now...and she is named Marble.
Rest In Peace Marble. You sure had a wonderful and long life!

Aww what an absolutely beautiful kitty! I just love her coloring.
She lived a long and happy life with you, and now she gets to play endlessly until you two meet again. :) I'm sure she thinks of you with happiness, so remember her the same, no tears. ((((hugs)))))

I am so sorry Jan.:( {{{{HUGS}}}}
A little fur ball as white as snow
With big blue eyes that seemed to glow
Came to their home before break of dawn
Her cries like a child, they were surely drawn
Barely weaned and thrown away
This little Angel was there to stay
In their bed she slept each night
Stole their pillow and hearts at first sight
The most loving Angel for sixteen years
Has been laid to rest with flowing tears
Forever in their hearts she’ll be
At Rainbow Bridge her pain set free
Rest in peace sweet Marble

Sis Marble was very lucky to have been 'dumped' at your house. I'm sure she had the best life a cat could get with you. She sure was beautiful and now she's beautiful AND pain free. Enjoy your memories until you meet again.
Jo and Mags those are great tributes to Marble. You girls are the best!

Oh Jan, i'm so sorry to hear Marble went to Rainbow Bridge, I can't believe I missed this thread (i'm soooo sorry). :( You had sixteen wonderful years together and when you meet again you will have eternity to gaze into those beautiful blue eyes again forever.
She choose you, she knew she had found a very special momma when she was calling for you at your window, she knew she was home.
Jan, I can't tell you how sorry I am.

I also somehow seemed to miss this thread. :(
I am sorry to hear about Marble. Atleast she went peacefully. You did the right thing for her. I know how hard it can be when a pet dies. I have had a couple put to sleep in the past few months. I still cry sometimes when I think of my Brandy and it has been almost two years. Just remember all of the good times you had with her. She will be waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge.

I am sorry to hear this Jan, I am back on site again after tending to my eldest these days, whom was sick with mammary cancer/old age as well (17 and 8 months). I got back on site to post that she is gone (today 11/25), but have been beside myself to write anything yet ... I am just reading other's loss and responding to it now as it helps me. I have been through this before, like many of us, but it never gets easier, and I wonder all the time how it is I have a heart left~!
I will write my post ... when I can ... but it was easy and so comforting to read yours because it made me think ... "What a beautiful creature Marble was on earth and now in Heaven and my sweet baby Tiki's going to love meeting this one~!"

Im so so sorry for your loss also Laurie :( . No, its never easy to lose the ones we love. Even though they both lived long, happy lives we cant help but be selfish and wish we could've had them longer... we just miss them so much. I know Tiki and Marble are running together over the Rainbow Bridge, playing and smiling down on us from heaven ;) .
Sending prayers and big hugs your way.... rest in peace our little ones.
