Hi, all. Lucky & I are the "new kids on the block". I'm so glad to have found this group. Lucky is a 6yr old nuetered male Siberian Husky that I adopted from Siberian rescue. Actually he chose me. My only requirement was when I went searching for a new friend is that he would be past puppy stage. He was 9 mo. old when I got him, and very much a puppy. He still is very much a puppy, but I addore that trait. He is gentle & loves all my family members, especially my eldery mom. He travels with me locally and we have done a few road trips as well. I love to hear his voice, woo-wooo-woooo. and when he howls at the wolves on the Animal Planet shows. Lucky's other relatives of the 4footed kind are a cat(honest he dosen't harm him) and a Brittany Spaniel named Ralph who belongs to my sister. We had a rabbit but he passed on at 10 years of age last spring. I hope to get a new bunny soon. Any other rabbit lovers out there as well? Any Siberian Husky Lovers?

Hi and a warm welcome to you!
I love huskies because they're the closest pooches to being wolves and I love wolves! Good for you getting a rescue! We have a lot of rescues here so you should feel right at home. :)

Hi there,
Glad you joined the site and we look forward to hearing about your animals - both past and present and future dreams. Consider yourself hugged in welcome.
Love Bird B,
I was viewing without logging in - read this post and had to hurry and log in. You'll never believe this - but on the one wall in my office I have a picture of three wolves standing on top of a mountain at night. It is done is shades of light gray, gray, blue hues and dark blue and black. The eyes are done so they actually feel as if they follow you around the room. I had taken mom (or was it dad) shopping one day at their local Acme - no intention of buying a picture - but once I saw this one, I just had to have it. I still love it and those animals!

Besides my domestic critters I love wolves and collect as many wolf related items as I can, I have a lot of sterling silver jewelry with wolves on it, tee-shirts, figurenes, blankets, even a blanket. I think the wolf has gotten a bum rap by us humans. They are a good example of loyalty & family life. The "aunt" & "uncles" even babbysit. Just like me. They are part of the balance of the whole ecological system that is so badly degraded.

Hello lucky'smom and welcome :)
although we are an all breed rescue, our dog rescue specializes in Siberian Huskies and Shiba Inu's. I dont think Sibes ever grow out if the puppy stage LOL. They are beautiful and wonderful companions. The woman that runs our rescue used to breed and show Sibes until she found 2 of her tattoo'd pups in our "high-kill" shelter. She stopped breeding and went into rescue. We just rescued a gorgeous Sibe last week from a shelter. The problem with Sibes are they are escape artists and runners. This one we rescued last week has been at the shelter many times, the owners have failed in keeping her contained, so the shelter gave up on the owners and called rescue for the safety of the Sibe.
Its wonderful to hear you rescued lucky!!!

I have a Siberian Husky by the name of Balto! He is five years and real fun. He howls a lot and enjoys lazing around, but when it's time for his walk, he's stronger than Hercules. :-)
Aren't wolves and huskies and all dogs and all animals just great?

That is so funny. He really howls at the tv? My cat's sometimes would try and play with the cats on the tv too.
