Some cats have been coming to my front door and bothering my dog. Last night when I got back from a walk with my dog one cat was standing in the way and wouldn't let us pass to go up the stairs. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to change these cats behavior?

You could try carrying a spray bottle with water. Most cats do NOT like getting sprayed with water, and it won't hurt them.

I like JustJo's idea about the spray bottle. You may be able to harvest some other ideas from sites about keeping cats out of the garden, like:

Could use a spray bottle or a water pistol..just make sure it looks like a water pistol or that could end up as another story...one of those water blaster things..you might look silly back almost guarnatee no more cat problems...another method is and not everybody will agree to this one is...set a trap catch the little darling take around the back where nobody can see you and give the cat a good soaking with the garden house, I'm not saying put it on jet what you are trying to do is scare the cat so it no longer considers your house its territory...just some ideas..so please don't bet me up over them...
