Hi... I don't normally post here but I felt like it might be a good time to start, since I am fairly confiden that the type of people around here will understand how I feel... my boyfriend (Maggie was also his) does get it, but I just need other people to tell me it'll be ok I guess.

We only had Maggie for two weeks... but she was the most darling kitten ever. She pranced around the house, following us everywhere. And she had a very powerful meow for a 1.3 pound cat! She wasn't very good at using the little box yet as she had been abandoned at a young age by her mother. However, we were training her and she was getting better.

On Saturday morning she seemed a little out of sorts... and by Saturday afternoon she was almost not moving. We gave her a small piece of sliced turkey (she usually attacks us for the stuff!), and she managed to move about an inch to get to it, and then she bit onto it but couldn't even take it all in her mouth, nor swallow it. SO SAD. At that point we knew she had to see a vet... so we took her to an emergency clinic. She died a few hours later, even though the vet had her on an IV and in an incubator to try to get her nourished, hydrated, and warmed up. He said she probably had a virus that got to her quickly because of her small size. I think she was sick before we got her... there were always small signs, that we took her to the vet for before, but I guess the signs were not obvious enough for anyone to catch anything.

I just wanted to share, since I truly and deeply miss my little kitten. If after only 2 weeks with I miss her this much, I can only imagine how close of a bond we would have developed.

Thanks for reading... any support would be very nice.

I've included 2 adorable pictures of Maggie... I'm sure everyone can appreciate how beautiful and playful she looked!

I'm so very sorry for your loss! Two weeks isn't very long, but with uncondional love is there in an instant bond so I understand completely. I wish she could have been with you longer. I'm sure she was greatful for the love and time you shared.

Prayers that you heal and can move on holding the little one in your heart always

I am so sorry for your loss. It is amazing how we bond with our animals and it is understandable how much you miss her even though she was only able to be with you for two weeks. You can be sure we all understand what you are feeling at this time.

I'm sorry to hear about Maggie too. Pets have a way of stealing our hearts no matter if you've had them 2 weeks or two years. We've all suffered a loss or two here and we can relate to how you feel. Sounds like you had lots of love for Maggie and someday I hope you'll open your heart to another kitten. I think Maggie would like that. God bless.
