i have a funny story about my rescue dog and my pet bird.
over a year ago i bought a baby lovebird, 8 wks old and cute as a button! i had a cage at
home and i brought her with me and i showed her the cage. i had the dogs laying down
cos i wasn't sure about the new guy. my other dog loves everythings and is real gentle. But
my then new dog, Snorts (Norton), still got really excited and hadn't gotten the hang of
self restraint. i took my little baby back out ofher cage and attempted to i ntroduce her to
my gentler dog first.
Well, she decided it was too scary and tried to fly off (she'd been clipped) so she wasn't
going to get far, i wasn't worried. However, before she'd fallen too far, Snorts had caught
her in his big mouth. =.O . at the same instant i yelled at him, he tried to put her down
again.
he would run a few steps and try to put her down again while getting to his kennel.
however, my little bird had instinctively clasped down on his tongue! LOL. eventually he
did manage to put her down. I saw a little drool on her head, and a very bewildered look
as she turned around, trying to figure out where she was now!
ROFL.
nowadays, Snorts gives the little bird a wide birth, mostly due to her nipping his nails to
get away from her, smart of her since he has no clue where his feet are! However, if given
the opportunity my little bird will climb on Snorts' back and he will be her limousine...
SHe's not allowed on his head or past his collar, so she can't hurt him really. LOL too cute.
and that is how my dog learned that catching little birds was not such a good idea.
I hope u all enjoyed this little story =D. Nobody got hurt and all learned a lesson. he he
