For My Griffon Ganymede
27/09/95 ~ 27/09/04

It hurts so much here without you, I still can't believe you're really gone
I hope you know just how much I love you, I'll never know what exactly went wrong
It hurts when I remember what happened, time plays tricks with my mind
I hope you're watching me lost without you, praying you don't feel like I left you behind

It hurts when I think about your smile, I cry every time I hear your song
I hope you hear me each day as I talk to you, saying with me is where you belong
It hurts so much I don't see or feel you, what I'd give to have that once more
I hope that you sense how I yearn for you, knowing I'd be there in a second for sure

I miss you in the morning ~ all throughout the day
I miss your presence by my side every step of the way
I'm broken into pieces that no longer seem to fit
You were my centre pillar with flames always lit

I never thought I'd lose you until the day arrived
Now I'm lost without you struggling to survive
I deny this force of change but I have no choice
I need to feel your love, your touch and to hear your voice

I dream of you and the fun we had each and every night
I see you dancing in the stars twinkling so very bright
I'd love to hold you once more and cuddle my bundle of joy
In my arms again you felt so soft my precious little boy
x
You're the last thing I see when I close my eyes at night...
...and the first thing I see before I open them in the morning

You made so many hearts sing
We'll forever miss you

Happy birthday to a beautiful baby... what a wonderful tribute.

They're never really gone when they live forever in our hearts.

I miss my daisy-Momma! wahh:( She was my Persian. I took her home when she was 8 and had her in my life for only a few wonderful years. Remembering is sad but sure gives you some perspective.

Thanks all ! Had to post my poem in here, first thing I searched for at PetLovers was a 'memorial forum' ! Suddenly it's appeared. Can't believe it's been a whole year, I've lit candles every day since Ganny died on his 9th birthday :( 27Sept2004, so he's just turned 10. He's very sorely missed ! Glad I had the opportunity to post my 'BirthdayBoy' memorial. Here's another by Jim Willis-great author...

So this is where we part my friend and you'll run on around the bend
Gone from sight but not from mind, new pleasures there you'll surely find
I will go on I'll find the strength, life measures quality not its length
One long embrace before you leave, share one last look before I grieve
There are others that much is true, but they be they and they aren't you
And I fair impartial or so I thought, will remember well all you've taught
Your place I'll hold you will be missed, the fur I stroked the nose I kissed
And as you journey to your final rest, take with you this ~ I loved you best

* Miss You Ganny *

We are glad you had a place to pay tribute to you pet too! This is a recent forum that was added to Petlovers a day or so ago, so you are the first member to post a memorial tribute to your pet.

dear helen, i broke my heart crying when i came across your message to your lovely dog ganymede.i lost one of my little dogs 18wks ago and like you he is the first thing i think of when i wake and last thing i think of before going to sleep in fact i think of him most of the day and am finding it a struggle without him in my life he was such a special little dog,he was more like a child to me than a pet,i loved him as much as i love my 5 children.people say i am lucky having 3 other dogs and i no its hard for them to understand when they havent loved an animal but they dont realise you cant replace him with another dog,he was my special little pip and i miss and love him so much it hurts.well i am sorry for going on,i have never done this on the site before but like i said your poem made me cry for you,for ganymede, and for my little dog and also for myself as my crying let some of my emotions out.thank you.linda green

Hi Linda,
I just wanted to say that I am sorry to hear of your loss of your little dog. Here on petlovers we do understand what you are going thru in spite of having 3 other dogs. There is that special place in your heart that aches for him. Crying is good in order to let your emotions out and it is good when you can do it among other pet loving people. When you feel more up to it I hope you will join us in one of the other forums and tell us about yourself and your pets -- post pictures of pets remembered and pets loving you now.
