View Full Version : Stroke in my best friend

Katie my 14 yr old mix suffererd what the vet termed a "stroke" She spent two day in the hospital and is now home.She cannot walk but will eat and drink and sometimes sit up. It been 5 day and little improvement. The vet seems tio thinkl over time she will recover. Anyone have any advice or experience with this. Oh I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I am not sure about that. I think if your vet said she will recover then maybe this is true. Probably will take much time. How old is she? I hope things get better for you? Gail

Aawww poor little baby!! Besides birds, I love dogs especially puppies!! :(, it hurts to see a dog get hurt dosent it, especially a good, loyal, and cute dog!! I hope she will get way better, and recover from the stroke dude, I do, and your lucky that she is still alive! :)

I'd go with what the vet said and hang in there. Keep on loving Katie and keep us posted.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about Katie! :( I tend to agree with what the vet told you -- that Katie will recover from the strokes. It will be a slow and gradual recovery though. Hang in there and give Katie hugs from me and my 4 poochies.

thank you i cant believe that no others have had this experience. katie is eating and drinking ok but only moves a few feet. her head is sloped down and to the left. its so sad; this dog is such a loving animal

It's great that katie's eating and drinking. Hold her as much as you can and always let her know how much you love her. That alone can do wonders.

im sorry the your babby is sick and it is good she is getting better i am worried about my dog maggie i love her she was my best friends and i hope she is ok she is a 11 and at 13 or 14 a dog should be ass helthy as ever
maggie still ran around like a 3 month old puppy getting into evertyhing like she has difrent personalitys
