Has anyone heard of the new rattlesnake vaccine? Has anyone tried it? Anyone had any feed-back on it? I was at my vet's Friday and they had a notice that it was available now. I asked about it and my vet told me he's been giving it but until one of the vaccinated animals gets bit he can't really comment on it. I live in S.Texas and this past spring the rattlesnakes were plentiful. We had a 5' snake about 5 feet from our front door crossing the sidewalk. My dogs were inside barking like wild and my husband managed to kill it. We have small dogs and if one had gotten bit, they surly would have died. We live 30 miles from our vet and I don't know if that would have been enough time to get there to get the anti-venom shots. I think I'm going to get all 4 of them shots next spring before the snakes come out.
