My dad was in a really bad accident. I have a small chihuahua. She was attacked by another bigger dog. I think it was a pitbull. Well she had 3 drain placements, over 20 stitches on the side of her stomach and over 6 broken ribs. She cries every night and she's always sad. She's a pretty old dog and I'm afraid that she might be going to rainbow bridge. I really need someone to talk to about my situation. I also wanted to know if anyone knew any good pet insurance companies. Well you can always send me a post.

Dear Shelly,
I'm so sorry to hear about your father and your chihuahua. That's terrible! Is she on any pain medications for the pain? I hate to hear she is crying all the time. Most pet insurance compaines will not pay on a pre-existing condition.
A word of advice when you post on here be careful when you post without all the facts. Accusing a pit of the attack without knowing for sure (actually seeing the attack) can be taken pretty badly around here as we have many pittie lovers on this site. I understand your feelings and yes the breed does get a lot of bad publicity. Unfortunately there are bad owners and breeders out there for this particular breed and they are catching a lot of flack for it.
Please don't misunderstadn me. I completely understand your feelings about your dog being injured and I would feel the same as you if that happened to me. I just don't want to see you post about a pit if your not 100% sure it was that breed of dog that attacked your dog.
My prayers and thoughts are with you in this difficult time. Please keep us posted on your dogs recovery and if she is on pain meds. I really am sorry for your situation.

Shelly, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog and your father. How are they both doing? I hope things are going well. Maybe you could share an update with us.
I know how hard it is to go through that sort of situation first hand. It's really really tough. While theres nothing I can say to totally alleviate your sad feelings, kind words from people here helped me through it. I would talk to your vet and see what he or she thinks should be done.
Best Wishes,
Justin

Shelley, I just wanted to express my sympathy at what you find yourself going thru at this time. Is your dad ok and able to recover from his accident? While your dog is crying and seeming sad -- is it possible that she is concerned for your dad? You didn't say how long ago your little dog was attacked, if it was very recently she may just need time to heal and stop hurting. Just shower her with love, affection and be with her when you can -- that will go a long way to helping her feel better.
