Hello all! I am new to the forum and hoping one or more of you can help as I didn't know where to turn. I have two bulldogs - 4yo female and 2yo male. I am separated and as part of the divorce, my ex-husband will be getting the male. I was okay with this at first as he has 2 kids from a previous marriage who miss the dogs very much and I know he will be going to a good home & be well loved. However, in the last 3 months that I have been separated, I see that my two babies have gotten closer (maybe b/c of the absence of my husband and his kids?).

My concern is this - what is the best method in separating them? I am worried about my female's mental health once the male is gone..

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thank you!
Christine

Hi Christine and welcome :)

Im so sorry to hear about your divorce. I do think that your female will be fine in time. Maybe you could ask your ex for visitation rights and have weekend sleep-overs. If this cannot happen, you might want to consider adopting another Bulldog to keep your female company. Its amazing how quickly they bond to another dog. Take it one day at a time ;)
